Week 8 EOC: Creative Content

People now in days just don't pay attention to anything printed anymore. Personally I can't recall the last time I read a poster or a flyer. I usually consider that as useless trash. Everyone seems to be really concentrated ether on their laptops and their smart phones. They look at those screens 24/7 and look at nothing else. As sad this can be, this technological era is actually a good time to put a product like the one the Make a Change Flag Football League offers. Millions of people are always logged in in social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. For which is why is our plan to contact our costumer in that way. We will get them to like us, like what we have to say and what we have to offer. Also this is a great opportunity to hear what they have to say for which is why we will not just talk non stop but we will also listen and pay attention to their needs. We will keep them informed of everything that is going on with our event, and also share with them every single thing that happens, such like new members joining or anything like that, giving them a chance to comment on everything we do and determine from there if everything we do is adequate for them.

Implementation Evaluation Control

There are few more steps to consider when it comes to the marketing plan of Make a Change Flag Football League. “Marketing implementation is the process that turns marketing plans into marketing actions in order to accomplish strategic marketing objectives. Whereas marketing planning addresses the what and why of marketing activities, implementation addresses the who, where, when, and how.” Page 57 Marketing: An Introduction. We have contact a few football teams to participate in the event and we are schedule to talk to a few more, also we have been contacted by others that want to participate, and for what we have talked about they have strong beliefs and they are willing to give it their all for them. Also we have been accepted to make this event at the All America Park. 



The only thing that is missing is the verification of the fees we are going to need to pay to use the place. We still need to let this even grow an contact many others, so we are taking the time it need, so we are scheduled to performed at the beginning of spring 2013. So far in the little time we have been planning this event, people’s reaction has been positive. “The consumer arrives at attitudes toward different brands through some evaluation procedure. How consumers go about evaluating purchase alternatives depends on the individual consumer and the specific buying situation. In some cases, consumers use careful calculations and logical thinking.” Page 154 Marketing: An Introduction. The logical thinking toward Make a Change Flag Football league is simple, try to help people out in the way that you feel the most passionate about, we hope our costumers understand that and give it their all to do so. “Marketing Control is evaluating the results of marketing strategies and plans and taking corrective action to ensure that objectives are attained.” Page 58 Marketing an Introduction So far the results for our company has been excellent, and people seem very into it.

Price

Make a Change Flag Football League is a charity event, for charities, and like any other charity related event or group, we understand that every single dollar helps toward the cause. Moreover, the more funds we recollect the better the effort everyone put in this event will pay off. “Yet, cutting prices is often not the best answer. Reducing prices unnecessarily can lead to lost profits and damaging price wars. It can cheapen a brand by signaling to customers that the price is more important than the customer value a brand delivers.” Page 275 Marketing: An Introduction. Like any other charity related event, we will be asking for a minimum amount fee for the teams playing. Some of the money will go to paying the staff, such as referees, and any fees there might be for using the park for that day. And the rest will go to donations that will be made to the charities. “Instead, no matter what the state of the economy, companies should sell value, not price. In some cases, that means selling lesser products at rock-bottom prices. But in most cases, it means persuading customers that paying a higher price for the company’s brand is justified by the greater value they gain.” Page 275 Marketing: An Introduction. The teams are going to be welcomed to pay a higher amount, we will hope they do this since they should understand that the more capital is gathered the higher the donation amount will be. As for the rest of the public there will be no admission fee. Yet through out the event we will be asking them to open their hearts and donate an amount of money, also we will be explaining to them how this could help the cause that the teams will be playing for. As well this will give them that feel of satisfaction of being able to help someone.

Promotion

With Make a Change Flag Football League, it’s all about helping people help others, and we offer is a fun time, and the satisfaction of helping the ones in need. “The company designs promotion programs that communicate the value proposition to target consumers and persuade them to act on the market offering.” Page 31 Marketing: An Introduction. What makes our costumers want to come to our event is the chance to fight or what they believe. Moreover the feeling of content that gives to the individuals is definitely irreplaceable, which is why little effort is needed to show the costumer that what we offer is bigger than anything out there. “The product concept holds that consumers favor products that offer the most in quality, performance, and innovative features; thus, little promotional effort is required.” Page 33 Marketing: An Introduction. We offer a high quality time and feeling. Also a high performance and a very innovative feature, help people help others. The only promotion we need to offer is that the more people they bring to the event, the more they are going to be able to help, therefore the bigger the feeling o satisfaction of helping others will be.

Distribution

With setting the product that Make a Change Flag Football League makes it’s time to take in consideration how to distribute it to the targeted market. Distribution channel decisions often involve long-term commitments to other firms. For example, companies such as Ford, HP, or McDonald’s can easily change their advertising, pricing, or promotion programs. They can scrap old products and introduce new ones as market tastes demand. But when they set up distribution channels through contracts with franchisees, independent dealers, or large retailers, they cannot readily replace these channels with company-owned stores or Web sites if conditions change.” Page 312 Marketing: An Introduction. We commit to let people get involved with all of our plans, in that way they can modify the event itself in order to make it more appealing to the public, resulting a better experience. As time goes by, things change and so do the preferences of our costumers. We also understand that not everyone is the same, therefore everyone needs different approaches according to there needs and features. “More and more companies have adopted multichannel distribution systems—often called hybrid marketing channels. Such multichannel marketing occurs when a single firm sets up two or more marketing channels to reach one or more customer segments. The use of multichannel systems has increased greatly in recent years.” Page 320 Marketing: An Introduction. Of course we would start with our main costumers, the young athletes. Something that keeps this kind of costumers going is competition, special most of them being male, it’s just in their nature, even in our female athletes, a bit of friendly competition will make the whole event more appealing for them. This is a chance to fight for their believes anyway. Then we would focus on all of the athlete’s families. They will want to know that the people they will be cheering for are being taken in consideration, for which we will let them know that every single one of the teams and also their beliefs are important to us by letting them all be in the spotlight, thing that we hope will create the event more appealing.

Product

Obviously Make a Change Flag Football League is about sports, and football. Yet we strongly disagree to say that sports are out product. We offer much more than that. We offer something for everyone and not just a specific group of people. “Product development is offering modified or new products to current markets.” Page 46 Marketing: An Introduction. More that just playing a sport we offer a community a fun time and the opportunity to help others. First, for the young athletes, the whole event is not a fight for power or anything, is more of a fun time trying to defend something they believe and care about. For others is the chance to watch those athletes have fun and having fun themselves by doing so. “The product concept holds that consumers will favor products that offer the most in quality, performance, and innovative features. Under this concept, marketing strategy focuses on making continuous product improvements.” Page 10 Marketing: An Introduction. When it comes to quality, everyone that assists will enjoy a wonderful time and will also get the satisfying sensation of helping others by doing so. As in performance, the facet that it’s a weekend long of endless fun and the fact that every charity will at least get something out of the event will make the whole thing worth. And the whole thing being about helping people helping others makes it a very innovative feature.

Target Market Strategy

For Make a Change Flag Football League, the more people come to our event, the better. Yet we need to concentrate on whose attention we need to get in order to bring in as many people as possible. “Companies can build customer relationships at many levels, depending on the nature of the target market.” Page 17 Marketing: An Introduction. Figuring out whom to build this costumer relationship with can be tricky, since one of our goals is to get as many people as possible involved, yet the fact that anyone can come to the event won’t get the whole thing started. We need to go back to the basic in order to even start our target marketing strategy. Market targeting involves evaluating each market segment’s attractiveness and selecting one or more segments to enter. A company should target segments in which it can profitably generate the greatest customer value and sustain it over time.” Page 50 Marketing: An Introduction. One has to remember that Make a Change Flag Football League is a sports event, and people would come from all over the community to watch young athletes play football. For which that should be Make a Change Flag Football’s target marketing, Young athletes, since it is them who the whole event is for. The more young athletes we recruit to play for us, the more people will want to come to support their neighbors, friends, kids, etc. at the same time the more people we would be helping.

SWOT Analysis

When organizing an event such as the Make a Change Flag Football League, there are many advantages and disadvantages to take in consideration in order to move on with the project. “The marketer should conduct a SWOT analysis, by which it evaluates the company’s overall strengths (S), weaknesses (W), opportunities (O), and threats (T.)” Page 55 Marketing: An Introduction.
Strengths of planning an event like this are giving the chance to communities so they can help others and give back, also involving young people in the whole process.
Weaknesses such the chance of losing one of playing teams, or not being able to convince enough people to come to the event might occur.
Opportunities of contacting another organization and them helping sponsor some of the teams is a one of the things to keep in consideration.
Threat that any outdoor event faces is with climate, where lately the climate has been out of control and is very hard to predict whether it is going
"The plan begins with an executive summary that quickly reviews major assessments, goals, and recommendations." Page 56 Marketing: an Introduction. Even though the negative side of creating something like this, the positive things are so much valuable that really makes the whole project worth the effort.

Objective

In Make a Change Flag Football League, it seems like many objectives are being pursued. Yet there is one in specific that started this whole project to even begin with. “The objective is to maximize profits, not sales. Therefore, the company must weigh the benefits of providing higher levels of service against the costs.” Page 330 Marketing: An Introduction. Helping people help others is what this whole event is about. More over, the way we are trying to achieve this, is with donating to the many charities people believe in the most, therefore the more we can raise, the more these people are going to be helping. “A firm must be careful not to make growth itself an objective. The company’s objective must be to manage “profitable growth.” Page 45 Marketing: An Introduction. The objective of Make a Change Flag Football League is not to raise fees and cost even if more capital is needed. Never the less the more individuals in the community get involved the more funds Make a change Flag Football League is going to obtain. All things considered the more people the more funds the more people being helped. It all comes back to helping people helping others. Again it seems like the objective of Make a Change Flag Football League branch out into many smaller objective. On the other hand, perhaps more importantly, getting more members in the community involved is what this is all about. More than helping the charities, it’s about helping the people come together that is going to help such charities. As long as Make a Change Flag Football League gather as man people as possible, their objective will be achieved, therefore helping them help others.

Business Mission Statement


Helping people get physically active is important. Getting people active in their communities is crucial. Mission statements should be meaningful and specific yet motivating.” Page 41 Marketing: An Introduction. Everyone has different opinions, different prospective, different choices and different thoughts. Getting everyone to collaborate in one specific cause is nearly impossible. Moreover people are willing to support and defend what they believe in. Young people specially. I strongly believe that everyone what’s to help and everyone wants to make a change, yet they do not know how or where to start. A clear mission statement acts as an “invisible hand” that guides people in the organization” Page 39 Marketing: An Introduction. Make a Change flag football league's mission is to search and contact young people that want to help, that want to make a change, a bringing them together to support and fight for what they believe in. At the same getting them socially and physically active involving them in an all American safe sport, that being flag football, where teams can come together, play, have fun, and try to win and raise money to donate to a charity of choice. Also inform their communities about such an event so they can participate by supporting their teams and also contributing with the cause.

Week 7 EOC: The Pitch

Everyone has something they believe in and they want to support. Also everyone needs help in his or her own way ether is cancer or protecting someone from something. In my case, I like to help as many people as possible in any way possible, though doing that is very difficult, so a way I see to help out as many people as possible helping people help others. Researching around I found so many people trying to help other. Yet again everyone has a different mindset. It wasn’t until I was out playing football with some friends that I hit me. The best way on getting people active is by letting them have fun and defend their beliefs. Sports are the easiest, effortless to make people stand up and have fun, so I came up with the idea of planning a sports event where teams can compete, have fun and give their all for a charity of their choice. I chose flag football since football is the most American sport and flag football to make it not as aggressive. The next day driving around parks I saw a football event so I looked around for a leader. The event was a small football league just playing for fun where the winner wouldn’t even win anything yet they still had to pay.  I reached out to some of the teams and asked if they would be willing to collaborate in my plan, play, have fun and contribute to society. They were in. That is how my plan of making small leagues for charity started and with it I found my pitch to help people help others.

Week 6 EOC: Me x 3

Brands are as important to me as to everybody else. Even if we don't realize it we are always leaning towards a specific brand over the other. My main three are very specific stuff I ether use or consume on the daily and I couldn't use any other brand just because I do believe that no other brand would satisfy me as much as these brands do.

"Companies today recognize that they cannot appeal to all buyers in the marketplace, or at least not all buyers in the same way." Page 175 Marketing: An Introduction. Vans "Off The Wall" shoes is the only brand I personally use. No other shoe is as comfortable, neat and appealing to me as they are. Founded in 1966, Paul Van Doren instantly turned a good cheap shoe into a fad. Yer this brand is not suited for everyone. It is specially marketed to the skateboard lifestyle.


"The companies themselves vary widely in their abilities to serve different segments of the market." Page 175 Marketing: An Introduction. Coka-Cola is not just my choice of drink, it is THE only drink. Whenever I'm offered any other brand of soda I instantly feel offended to some extent. Coka-Cola is marked to be the drink for every occasion, if there is some kind of gathering going on, be sure that this is the drink of choice.

Without my MacBook pro, I don't think I would even be able to function in real life. Designed by Apple, there is no other computer I would eve like to use, if I ever do is for pure obligation. Moreover, every Mac computer is acceptable as well because Apple is just the way to go when it comes to technology. I do also plan on acquiring an Iphone, needless to say also designed by Apple, this would be my culmination to the whole set of Apple products in my collection.

Week 5 EOC: Superbowl Commertial


The Best Buy “Phone Innovators” commercial for the Super bowl 2012. This commercial is a tribute to one of the most popular and important invention in today’s society, the smartphone. Today most people have a sentimental attachment with their smartphone, and also to the apps in them, including myself. These people’s life it’s so adapted to the phone that many can’t function without it for a whole day. Many dispute that it has ruined society and the way we look at things. In part I do agree with them since I believe that your entire life should not revolve around a materialistic object. Yet I am technology’s number one fan. We live in an era where technology is essential, without it humanity would have not come this far. But one has to remember technology works for people and not the other way around, and that is exactly what the smartphone is to me. Yes my phone is used in big part for my social life such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, texting and what not, but it is also my gateway to the rest of the world such as emergencies, work or any business I’m currently working on. And the little extras have never bothered anyone. Through this apps mentioned in this commercial, which I have all downloaded into my phone, I have done way much more than socializing. I have kept myself in communication with people in other countries, even continents. Also I have gotten a few photography gigs through them.  My smartphone is so much more than just a piece of metal to me it’s my most useful gadget. There is definitely a sort of sentimental attachment between me, my phone, and my apps, and I’m sure I can speak for millions as well. Best Buy really nailed waking that feeling.

Week 4 EOC: Busines VS Consumer Buying Behavior

People buy from companies. Companies buy from even bigger companies. But what is the difference between them both? "Most of GE’s business comes not from final consumers but from commercial and industrial customers across a wide range of industries." Page 158 on Marketing: An Introduction. Big companies as GE have a higher interest in other companies over small consumer, since is those big companies that buy millions of dollars at once for their product. Then those small companies treat with consumers, which gives them the money to, again, buy from the big companies and the cycle continues. "At a general level, marketing medical imaging technology or diesel locomotives to business customers is like selling refrigerators to final buyers." Page 158. Both business and consumers have similar ways of buying different objects. They both have the same objective, cheapest, best quality of anything they can get. For business is transportation, sometimes big mass merchandise and other heavy duty machinery. For costumers is smaller things, such as household items, food, and even electronics. Same objective, different subjects. "buyers carefully scrutinize factors such as cost, fuel efficiency, and reliability." Page 158. And they can both be very similar, looking for details. details such as which is going to last longer, which one works faster, better, stronger, at the end, which one is the best deal. Business and consumers can be as different as they can be similar when it comes to buying, and at the end the whole consumerism is one big cycle.
